Charlotte Estate Wedding | Matt & Kate

Their Love Story

Matt and Kate met when they were both at a brewery and she went up to him and said she liked his dog! The rest is history. Their dogs are their babies and obviously a huge part of their love story.

I first met Kate and Matt when I shot Kate’s sister Sydney’s wedding at the Poinsett Club almost 2 years ago. She was the sweetest maid of honor and their whole family was such a joy to celebrate with. (She was even the one to catch the bouquet when Sydney tossed it at her reception!!!)

Fast forward a few months and Matt proposed to Kate at the VanLandingham Estate wedding venue in Charlotte, NC. It’s an venue near their house that they had walked past several times. Every time they walked past the venue they would talk about how one day they wanted to get married there! So on one of their casual strolls past the estate, Matt dropped to one knee and asked Kate if she would marry him…and of course she said yes!

The Wedding Day

They are such a chill and fun couple, and their wedding day was the perfect representation of their relationship! They had their ceremony on the front lawn of the VanLandingham Estate surrounded by their closest friends and family.

After the ceremony, they had their precious fur babies waiting for them! Charley and Wilson were SO excited when they saw their parents walk around the corner!! It was the sweetest reaction. The dogs could hardly contain their excitement while we took a few “family photos” of the 4 of them.

Matt & Kate’s day was filled with so much joy and love from their friends and family. Everyone was so kind and you could tell how happy they were for Matt and Kate!

After portraits, everyone headed to the gorgeous tent for an amazing dinner and super fun reception! They had a live band, Swingin’ Richards, who absolutely knocked it out of the park. The dance floor was packed all night long! They even invited Matt to come play drums with them a couple times and he did awesome…it was such a fun surprise!
